Occupancy Intelligence
Our people-counting solution delivers reliable, real-time insight into how people move through buildings, entrances, and defined spaces. Using AI-enabled Time-of-Flight (ToF) sensors and LoRaWAN® connectivity, the system counts entries and exits simultaneously, calculates occupancy, and provides useful traffic-flow data without relying on conventional video surveillance.
The resulting information helps building owners, retailers, hospitality operators, public facilities, and workplace managers make better operational decisions. Accurate occupancy data can support smarter space planning, improved visitor experience, more efficient cleaning and staffing, and demand-based control of lighting, ventilation, and air conditioning.
How we Completed
We assessed key access points, selected suitable sensor locations, and installed intelligent people-counting devices across the site. Each sensor was configured for bidirectional counting and connected to the LoRaWAN® network for reliable, low-power data transmission. The system was then integrated into a central dashboard, tested under normal operating conditions, and fine-tuned to provide accurate occupancy and people-flow reporting.
The Mission
The mission was to give the client clear, reliable visibility of how people use key spaces throughout the site. By replacing manual estimates with real-time occupancy and people-flow data, the solution supports better decisions around space utilisation, staffing, visitor management, comfort, and building operations.
The system was designed to be privacy-conscious, low maintenance, and scalable. Using intelligent sensors and LoRaWAN® connectivity, it provides a practical foundation for future expansion and for occupancy-led energy management, including smarter control of lighting, ventilation, and air conditioning.
Final Results
The completed people-counting solution provides accurate, real-time visibility of entries, exits, occupancy, and movement patterns across key areas of the site. The client can now access live data and historical trends through a central dashboard, replacing manual estimates with clear, actionable information.
The system supports better use of space, more informed operational planning, and improved visitor experience. It also creates a scalable foundation for future sensor expansion and occupancy-based building controls, helping reduce unnecessary lighting, ventilation, and air-conditioning energy use.
